Course Content 
The student studies and applies training in the:
  • counselling process
  • development of  the core counselling qualities and skills
  • application of  the key skills of Problem Management and Opportunity Development Model – Egan.
At the heart would be the development of professional and ethical practice in therapeutic counselling.

Materials supplied with this course 
The course materials consist of 10 Lessons and 4 tutor marked assignments. The Notes are supplied in PDF and Word format with a note of core and recommended books.

This module is the second of two modules which make up the Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Course UT1000

Accredited or CPD
The Certificate in Counselling is awardedby the Institute of Counselling. The module is credit rated with 20 credits at SCQF level 8 (2nd year BA/BSc).
