Credit Rated Counselling Courses

This course provides an excellent introduction to Counselling. It helps students understand the critical nature of core qualities and appreciation of the different counselling models - in particular the person centred model explained so well by Egan in his outstanding textbook "The Skilled Helper." It looks at employing key skills of problem management, and opportunity development. Building professional and ethical practice is at the heart of this course.  

This Course involves two modules that are credit rated independently with 20 credit points each at SCQF level 8 (2nd year BA/BSc). Module 1 introduces the student to Counselling and Module 2 extends the learning to include CBT techniques to employ with your client.

 

A solid foundation in counselling skills is required to enter the field of Counselling. This in depth course will provide you with person-centred counselling skills integrated with Egan's "The Skilled Helper" model. Additionally it offers more in depth study leading to better understanding by examining various counselling models and the history behind them.

This two module programme begins by giving a grounding in counselling and human growth and development leading on to explain how certain techniques can be best used to help with issues such as drugs, abuse, sexual problems, educational and vocational challenges etc.

This University Credit Rated course may be taken as part of The Diploma in Clinical and Pastoral Counselling Skills course or as a specialist course for those with previous Counselling experience. It allows the Counsellor to examine more deeply the subject of Grief and Bereavement Counsellng and the techniques employed to help clients through issues related to bereavement and loss. 

 

Chaplains and care givers are seeking courses that will enhance their spiritual care. Helping people who have faith, no faith or are agnostic requires in depth education which this course in spiritual care offers you. 

This course may be taken as part of The Diploma in Youth Counselling or as a specialist course for those with previous Counselling experience. It allows the Counsellor to examine more deeply the subject of Youth Counselling and the techniques employed to help young people deal with issues such as relationships, abuse and vocational problems.

Holistic Counselling combines both counselling and spiritual care that fully supports the client. This Course has two modules which are independently credit rated. This course provides learning to help you do this in the most effective way.
