This Couple and Family Counselling course would be suitable if you are presently in nursing, social work or one of the other caring professions and want to develop your career by gaining an additional qualification or upgrading an existing one, this course will be of major interest. It is subject specific and enhances current couple and family counselling knowledge by identifying the main requirements when counselling in this area.

Couple and Family Counselling Course Content
The course materials includes comprehensive course notes (knowledge and practice), and consist of 6 Units, 12 practice portfolio activities and 2 tutor marked assignments, supplemented with suggested background reading. The main learning resource is the learning pack supplemented by directed reading and case studies. Assignments include essays and analyses of case studies for subsequent discussion with tutors who will give constructive feedback.
Students will be supported by a work- based mentor or colleague in developing a competency portfolio of their couple and family counselling skills.
The certificate serves as one of the 4 modules making up of the Institute's Diploma in Clinical and Pastoral Counselling (Course 5000N).
