Course Content
Module 1 Certificate in Therapeutic Communication (840) The
student will study and apply therapeutic communication approaches to
establish a supportive relationship with clients.
- They will also receive training in:
- core qualities
- skills and group development
- personality types
- genograms
- loss and challenging prejudices
- culminating in therapeutic practice
At the heart would be the development of professional and ethical practice in therapeutic counselling.
In Module 2 Certificate in Counselling (121) The student studies and applies training in the:
- psychodynamic
- behavioural
- person-centred
- cognitive and pastoral approaches
They will also receive training in the
- counselling process
- develop the core counselling qualities and skills
and apply the key skills of the Problem Management and Opportunity
Development Model – Egan. Developing a professional and ethical practice
is at the heart of this certificate course.
Materials supplied with this course
The course materials consist of 20 Lessons and 10 tutor marked
assignments, supplemented with suggested background reading. The Notes
are supplied in PDF and Word format.

Those completing this course and wish to further extend their competency
