Hello,
I am very keen to become a qualified youth counsellor, I would like to know how long this course takes to complete while still working a full time job? Also when I complete the course will I be able to work in this profession straight away or will have to study a hightail diploma? And how easy it to find employment within this industry and what is the average pay to begin with?
I hope you can answer the above questions.

Hi
The course can be done in 1 year part-time - assuming about 8 hours study per week. You will need to access some suprvised practice and you may get this from a local voluntary group dealing with youth counselling. Once in the system, you will have a better opportunity to scope out the requirements for professional practice and what further studies you may have to do.
