You are asking a colleague to support you as a mentor on a counselling skills course. The aim is for your mentor to assist you through the Unit Activities to become a ‘reflective practitioner’ and enhance your counselling skills. As this is a counselling skills course you are not asking your mentor to give you counsellor practice supervision but support and reflective comments. You are given full details within the student guide as to the use of the portfolio and when it should be sent to your Tutor. It is likely that as long as you have the opportunity to apply the skills you will learn you should be able to generate suitable examples for reflection.
