Syllabus for Professional Diploma in Counselling and Spiritual Care

Module 1 Certificate in Counselling (CR200)

the students will study and apply the following topics:

psychodynamic
behavioural
person-centred
cognitive and pastoral approaches

They will also receive training in the

counselling process
develop the core counselling qualities and skills

and apply the key skills of the Problem Management and Opportunity Development Model – Egan. Developing a professional and ethical practice is at the heart of this certificate course.

Module 2 Certificate in Spiritual and Holistic Care (CR500)

Designed to help students understand and apply their knowledge of the following topics:

the rise and development of spirituality
models and methods of spiritual care
developing spiritual and pastoral care
spiritual religious and ethical issues
assessment methods of spirituality
importance of maintaining a professional practice
