Professional Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring (2 modules credit rated independently at SCQF level 8 Equivalent to Ofqual level 5)

When enrolling on any of our Diploma Courses we would only expect you to be working on one module at a time and only send out materials one module at a time. This is to avoid swamping you with information and allowing you to concentrate on one thing at a time. This helps you enjoy your learning which is important to both you and ourselves.

This course offers a very good understanding of the principles and practice of coaching and mentoring. It is a Continued Professional Development Course with 200 hours study/assessment in each of the two modules. As the modules in this course are accredited you will be able to put the academic points towards an associate degree should you wish to do so - click the accreditation tab on our home page for fuller details. Additionally you may wish to consider joing one of the coaching asociations in this country to extend your network and access further workshops/conferences.

Difficult question as it would very much depend on the reasons for taking the courses and ultimately the students ambitions relative to the topic.

No. This course is about providing the knowledge and skills need in successful mentoring/coaching. It is however better if there is some way you can support and test this with practical application. As a Trainer with many years experience I think you will find many ways to apply your learning in training areas whether this we one to one or trainer to group.

This course will provide the student with the knowledge and understanding required to appreciate the skills and techniques required for effective coaching and mentoring. The term "Life Coach" would need to be examined as this represents a more specific area of coaching and the student would be advised to seek a working definition with which most people would agree. There may be courses available which suggest that they tackle the specific topic of a "Life Coach."

Whether any course would formally "qualify" a person as a "Life Coach" is highly debateable as Education and Learning need to support the necessary personal attributes to be successful in this area.

The level of our course is level 8 - second year degree level. Each of the 2 modules are awarded 20 points (200 hours study/asessment for each module) on completion. To see how this relates to the course at Newcastle College you may wish to look at www.scqf.org.uk  

This Diploma is awarded by the Institute. It is not however a Diploma which allows the use of post-nominal recognition.

The course is distance/on-line learning so yes there is no problem studying from Germany. We currently have students from all over the world taking our courses. The materials for this course are sent to your e-mail in PDF.

There should be no reason why we cannot set up an instalment arrangement e.g. through your credit/debit card.

The modules within the Diploma are accredited by UWS at 20 level 8 (second year degree) points. The Diplomas are awarded and issued by the Institute but are badged with both IOC and UWS logos to reflect the accreditation.

This would very much depend on what you want to do in the future and at what level you wish to study. The academic points offered for completion of the Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring are at level 8 (second year degree level) - it would be better before starting this course to discuss any future requirements with the University of your choice and ask how they would view your completion relevant to your future studies.

The Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring on successful completion will give you 40 level 8 points (20 per module) which may contribute towards what you need for an ordinary Degree. This is normally gained after accumulating points at years 1, 2 and 3 escalating in difficulty each year. The 40 points awarded recognise 400 hours of study/assignments and may help towards your overall degree but it will not gain you entry to year 3 unless you can show the University other qualifications which can also be credit rated. The course can be started at anytime and you have upto 12 months to complete the course.
